When Your really Bored

When your really bored you will do some really weird things. A few days ago I decided to treat my dog like a horse. He didn't really like it but ai had so much fun! I misses all of my horsey friends at the barn, and this was the next best thing. So I attached his collar onto two leashes and started to "groom"him.

First you have to start the hard brush.

Remember to never go behind the " Horse" you might get bucked! Instead go in front.

After brushing with the hard brush finish it off with the "soft" brush.

By now Benji was getting a little restless from standing in place.

Look at those big eyes!

After grooming, get the saddle and put it on.

Then get the reins and clip it to the " bridle" a.k.a the collar.

And now Benji was ready to ride.

So we mostly just ran around the house with me clicking my tongue and pretending to ride him.

 

It was so mush fun!

A ride is not complete until you feed your horse some carrots!

Benji was not interested in the carrots,

But the guinea pigs loved them!

3D Printer

Yesterday my brother, Max saved up his birthday money and bought a 3D printer. I was exited because I could print stirrups, buckets and tons of stuff for my model horses, like Handcrafted by Kari. She used her 3D printer to make model horse buckets, saddle racks and much more! You should definitely check out her blog and Etsy shop!

Right now a Chinese cat is being printed. Max said that after it is done he will print me a horse medallion!

I want to try and design buckets and stirrups for my model horses but first I have to save up and buy some filament. ( Max said that I have to buy my own.)

Oh and look who keeps on coming and eating seeds! This tiny little chipmunk.

Tutorial: How To Make Lead Ropes

I'm so sorry that I haven't been posting, it's just that I have been doing nothing! The leather is lost somewhere in a UPS warehouse. My mom contacted the sales guy and he will send another one.

Today I will show you how I make my lead ropes! First I get two different colors of embroidery floss. 

You will need the thread to be twice as long as you want your lead rope to be. I will be using these two different colors of pink thread.

First I twist one color. I like to twist it really tight to make sure that the lead rope will come out neat.

While you twist the other side in the same direction I like to secure the end with anything heavy, which in this case is a bottle of tacky glue.

I make sure to twist the other color the same way.

OnceI have twisted both sides...

I twist them together. This way the lead rope will never come undone.

To add the clip I get a jump ring.

Then using some pliers I attach those onto a lobster clasp.

I then get my long strand of twisted string and fold it to make the lead rope thicker and shorter. I loop the lobster clasp into the end of the lead rope and clamp it in place with some pliers.

To make sure that the lead rope doesn't unravel I tie a knot at the end and cut off the excess string.

To make sure that the know does not untie I add a dab of glue.

And here is the finished product! I think that the colors go perfectly with my pink halter that I just made.

So Very Very BORED!

As you might know I recently bought some thin leather. I guess luck was not on my side because it still hasn't come! Due to social distancing I have not been to any camps in a while. Normally I would be exited for these hours of free time a day, but with no leather I can't make any tack! It has been torture to have all the supplies, and free time but with no leather. So I have been desperate these past few days of entertaining myself.

I made some model horse cookies, and I made so many saddle pads. After making like 20 saddle pads I got a little bored of that too. So using some extra felt and a buckle I made my dog, Benji a tie!

He looks quite handsome in his new tie!

So that is what I have been doing for the past few days. The reason I haven't posted in almost a week is that I have literally been doing NOTHING! Although it has been tough I have really been thinking out of the box to learn to make model horse tack with no leather or buckles. I promise to post as soon as the leather comes!

Tiny Horse Treats

Yesterday I made tiny horse treats! I made peppermint bites, peppermint cookies, oat bars, and salt licks. I had so much fun in my library making them on fourth of July. ( I hate the sound of fireworks.) After baking the mini treats in the oven I moved onto the bags.

These are the mini treats still on the pan.

The swirly ones are peppermint bites, the grey ones are the peppermint cookies, and the brown are the oat bars. To make the brown and grey cookies look more real I mixed some crushed oats into the clay!

Here is the mini bag of peppermint bites. I included a picture of Hamilton.

This is the peppermint cookies bag, it has a picture of Bristol on it.

This is the oat bars box that I am going to cut out. To get the templates I just searched up paper box templates then I made it smaller.  

I had so much fun making these tiny treats! It really gave me something to do. These will eventually be up for sale in my new Etsy shop so stay tuned!
